research and planning- genre research

Horror

Horror's are made to scare the audience , they are either based on real events such as Amityville horror or fictional such as the ring , if they are fictional horror's there's normally a creature/monster involved that has been made by a computer.
Horrors are normally located in dark lonely places to add to the fear factor such as a haunted house or
the woods, there isn't normally a lot of speaking in a horror film trailer as there's a lot of music which makes the audience more scared.
Horror films are normally a higher rating such as an 15 or 21.

Comedy

Comedies are made to make the audience laugh and is aimed at both female and males, comedies are aimed at a much wider audience as its something for all the family unless the language used makes it a higher rating.
The actors in comedies such as Adam Sandler  are usually associated with that genre as directors cast them time and time again.

 Romance

The target audience is normally women as romance films are known as chick flicks. The story is normally easy to guess as it always includes a boy a girl and a happy ending or as the girls like a fairytale ending.
The age ratings normally vary from PG's to 15

Action
The target audience is mostly men and the rating is normally a 15, actions normally have a lot of things going on at the same time which keeps the audience on there feet.
the props involved are mostly guns, bombs and other weapons.
the locations are normally very different and adventurous places
