research and planning- analysis of film posters

A  close up image of the two children shows there the main characters of the film, there facial expressions show there scared and worried which adds to the genre of the film, the girl also has blood around her mouth and odd looking eyes which gets the audience wondering and interested about the film. The lighting is low key lighting which we would expect from a horror film, the colours are all quite  dark colours apart from the colour red is used, the colour red indicates to the audience that theirs going to be blood and gore involved.

The background of the film poster is an empty field which shows the main scene will be a deserted place, which adds to the scariness of the film. The protagonist is shown in a close up of the words 'The Ring' we can see the distress in her face, and as it is a close up it gives it a more dramatic feel, we also see how the horror film is quite stereotypical by presenting the woman to be passive through her facial expression. The colour's used are dark and gloomy which sticks to the genre of the film.
