Evaluation - question 2

How effective is the combination of your main product and ancillary tasks?

I made a podcast and then on the software IMovie I edited it together with images and videos from my trailer, magazine and poster. I discussed the process of making my trailer and the tasks we had to do throughout. My role in the group is mise en scene so I have talked about the lighting, the make up and costumes of the chracters  and also the props used to make it a horror genre.I also discuss my magazine and poster. I have talked about how the poster and magazine link togther and how the colour scheme or the content indicates its a horror genre.

The poster and magazine link together mainly because of the colours used, I used black and red which both connect to the horror genre. The fonts i used also connect together the poster and magazine to the trailer as I've used similar fonts. i tried to make my magazine and poster show the horror genre as much as i could by using scary mise en scene such as the scary eyes, i wanted my magazine and poster to look simple but effective.

representation of the characters: the 4 of the girls have the same hair, make up and clothing throughout the trailer. Becky (the possessed girl) when the possessed scenes in the trailer have been used she has the same crazy hair and scary make up which is also then used in the magazine and poster.

good vs bad : in the trailer there is clear binary opposites, the audience can see who is the villain and who is the victims

colour: I've used a consistent colour scheme throughout the three tasks, i've used quite dark colours and a red colour, the red colour represents the horror genre. Keeping a consistent colour scheme throughout also links them all together and shows the audience that there all part of one film.

lighting: on all three tasks I've used low key lighting to portray the horror theme. When i took the images for the poster and magazine i took it in dark lighting but then on top of that i edited the in Photoshop to make it even darker, and make the scary make up stand out. Towards the end of the trailer the lighting gets darker and darker to show the possession taking place.

Location: i used a house for the location of tasks and i used the same location for each of the tasks. We tried to make the house look like a student house so the audience could understand the narrative better. for the poster and magazine i used the natural darkness outside , and i had just the flash for the lighting.
